I break a nervous sweat whenever I listen to music around the 80s.

I can’t stand that era for music.

The excessive reverb/delay on the drums (especially that snare). Overuse of flanger or phaser effects on the guitar. Goddammit, no! The sly use of synths for keys and for most tunes, that EQ on that bass. Cutting out most of that low-end. My god, absolute torture to me! And don’t get me started on the overuse of reverb for the vocals.

Don’t get me wrong, that era for music was a turning point for using effects/technology that influences today’s music but… I still can’t stand it!

I’m all for raw rock n roll music. Listen to Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Valleys of Neptune’ if you want to get me.
